The Spokes & Ale is an event where bike, beer and outdoor enthusiasts come together in the desert for a fun filled, active weekend with riding, racing, hiking, learning and beer drinking. The day includes organized hikes, rides, clinics and seminars as well as a mountain bike race that finishes up with live music, bonfires and beer and a fun night glow ride/run.

Race Day Registration

Online registration will remain open until 30 min before the start of the event. Jump on your phone and register before heading to the registration table. Keeping it digital!

Don't Want to Race?

That's cool. Come out and participate in the additional activities and seminars or just hang out and drink beer while your friends/family ride, hike or race. Admission to festival area is $10 to spectators and includes pint beer glass. Beer tickets purchased at the Info tent. 

​

What To Bring​
  • Photo ID to get your bib/packet and proof you are over 21!

  • Water - there is some available on site, but best to come prepared

  • Sunscreen

  • Bike, bike stuff

  • Repair items - just in case

  • Good attitude

We are mixing it up and riders will complete all courses in the

counterclockwise direction. A rare opportunity with a fun, new challenge.

2024 START TIMES* (Subject to change)

  • 12:00 pm - Wave 1 - All divisions except handcycle

  • 1:30 pm - Wave 2 - Handcycle Time Trial

DISTANCES:

  • Beginner Women / Junior - 2.57 mile loop x 3 green laps    (7.71 total miles)

  • Beginner Men - 5.0 loop x 2 blue laps (10 total miles)

  • Intermediate / Masters / Singlespeed - 5.0 mile loop x 3 blue laps    (15 total miles)

  • Expert - 6.9 mile loop x 3 black laps    (20.7 total miles)

  • E-Bike (Class 1) - 5.0 mile loop x 3 blue laps    (15 total miles)

  • Handcycle - 2.57 mile loop x 3 green laps    (7.71 total miles) - Time trial start

Directions

From central Phoenix, take I-10 west to the 303 North, exit at Northern. Follow Northern Ave. west one block to Cotton Ln. and make a right. Follow Cotton north till you reach Olive and make a Left. Follow Olive west to the park. Take the park road all the way till it ends at the Competitive track.

​

From the North, coming down the 303 exit at Peoria Ave. and head west to Cotton Ln. Head south on Cotton Ln. and make a right onto Olive Ave. Follow Olive west to the park. Take the park road all the way till it ends at the Competitive track.

​

Camping

Primitive camping is available at the race venue for $15/night and paid directly to the park when you enter. No RV Hookups. *Camping is at own risk.

​

Reserved camping spots are an additional $25 per spot paid to race organizers. Once the reserved spots are full then space is first come, first serve. There will be designated parking and camping areas that parking attendants will help you navigate to once you arrive.

 

Only those who register for the event early will have this option available. An email will be been sent to registered riders on how to sign up for the reserved camping spots. Others who register late will wait and see what is available when they arrive.  

​

Camping load in will start Friday afternoon. If you arrive any earlier you will not have access to the lot as we will be completing the setup of the venue. 

​

There are some park campsite reservable spots within the park so please check directly with the park to see rates and availability.  

​

Park Entry Fee

For all those coming to the race and are not camping there is a daily $7 fee that is paid directly to the park when you enter.
